Charlie is a short film and the origin story for a feature length script written previously. It follows a young woman in London, Charlie, who navigates through a day of self-reflection and heartbreak after her five-year boyfriend from Canada breaks up with her. Deciding to swallow her (very big) pride, she confronts her boyfriend for a humble second chance but finds a shocking surprise that sets in motion the bitter, crass and off-hand woman she becomes. Charlie is the glimpse into a traumatic moment in her life that plays as the roots for a bigger story. It’s about the weight of our experiences and choices we carry forward into our future. At its core, Charlie is about the ripple effect life has on our mental health.
