In the small, mountain town of Bellows River, small tremors of tragedy move at the feet of Lucy Gibbs. A recovering drug-addict, Lucy is giving all of herself to her efforts to stay clean and regain custody of her son, Max, who she had lost custody of over the years. Despite over a decade of navigating through severe depression and wavering between sobriety and days lost to drugs and alcohol, her ex-husband, Evan and best friend, Viv, have never faltered in their support. She finds herself at the threshold a new chapter, something to live for, and a family and friends who fiercely protect and believe in her.
When Max is killed in her care by a stray bullet, her already fragile mental state and enervated handle on life slowly dismantles. Left in the fragments of what she’d hoped life could be; she falls deeply under the control of trauma and rage, capturing and imprisoning Max’s killer, Titus. As the events unfold, cracks in reality slowly reveal a juxtaposition of revenge and self-torture. Lucy’s actions take her and everyone involved to devastating ends, exposing the dangerous effects the mind has on all that exists outside of it.
